In 2016, when the opportunity arose to acquire and lead my first rest home, I felt a deep mix of excitement and apprehension. I had years of experience as an aged care nurse manager and consultant across several facilities, but stepping into ownership was an entirely new challenge.

What propelled me forward wasn’t certainty—it was conviction. I held two unwavering beliefs: that residents in our care deserved far better, and that my team had the skill and heart to deliver it.

With limited resources but an unshakeable commitment, we set out to transform that vision into reality. Countless late nights and tireless days later, we achieved a standard of care we were truly proud of. And that was just the beginning.

Since then, we’ve expanded our impact with three additional acquisitions—each driven by a clear mission: to uplift the standard of aged care and put the wellbeing of residents and their whānau at the centre of everything we do.

What keeps us going isn’t growth for growth’s sake—it’s the moments that remind us why we exist. A resident beaming over a beautifully prepared meal. A whānau expressing their heartfelt thanks for making Mum’s birthday unforgettable. A handwritten poem from a resident who found friendship and dignity in our care. These are our KPIs—the ones that truly matter.
