Health Care Assistant – Rukuhia, Hamilton
Location: Rukuhia, Hamilton, Waikato Region (Te Whare Manaaki o Tamahere)
Are you a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant looking to be part of something truly special? We're building a brand-new team for Te Whare Manaaki o Tamahere, our newest residential care facility in Rukuhia, Hamilton, and we're inviting dedicated professionals to join us from the ground up. This is your opportunity to work in a modern, purpose-built environment that blends aged care, rehabilitation and disability support, underpinned by a strong Culture of Care.
Employment: Casual, part-time and full-time roles available.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting residents with personal care needs (showering, dressing, eating)
- Supporting mobility and communication needs
- Participating in the planning and delivery of individualised care
- Following therapy plans, including dementia or behavioural support
- Observing and reporting changes in resident condition
- Assisting with rehabilitation exercises and medication delivery under supervision
- Transporting residents to offsite appointments
About you
- Relevant healthcare qualification at NZQF Level 2 or 3
- At least one year of relevant experience
- Empathy, reliability and a genuine commitment to resident wellbeing
- Flexibility for rotating rosters
- Good physical and mental fitness (able to pass a drug test and police vetting)
